NONIQ | A Review Blog

Hello,
Today I would like to continue sharing my experience attending 'Pesta Sahabat Daihatsu 2013' - (lit. Best Friend's Party by Daihatsu). As I have mentioned on my previous post, I was lucky to be chosen as one of 26 blogger finalists from their blog competition. We were invited to join the blogger gathering and later on got a chance to witness their big party.

The blogger gathering lasted for about 2 hours or so, it was 5 pm when we got out of the meeting room at Aryaduta Hotel, Jakarta. I was then asked to do a registration at the nearly booth to get a Daihatsu T-Shirt which I had to wear on the party and also to choose the doorprize number - yeah, we didn't take our number randomly but we just simply said what number we'd like to sign in, and mine was number 8, my fave.

The funny story is, the fact that we, all bloggers were given a Daihatsu T-shirt each for the event was so unexpected. We already had this discussion, among female bloggers, about what should we wear during the party, some of us had planned to wear 'kebaya' - traditional cloth from Javanese culture, along with the wig. I even shouted I would wear kimono -though eventually I brought my long coat. And... how pointless that in the end we had to wear the same shirt just to mark our presence. Lol.

We were told to gather at the lobby at 5.30 pm, only 30 minutes remaining so I was in a hurry to get in the room which already booked by Daihatsu in order to prepare myself. I was sharing the room with another fellow blogger, Mrs. Nia Haryanto, who was also from Bandung, and some additional members, Ms. Ria Citinjaks and Mrs. Mutia Karamoy. They are from Jakarta so they got no room specially booked for them from Daihatsu, perhaps they thought why Jakarta people must spend a night in a Jakarta's hotel? Well, why should be a problem, can't everyone have a same opportunity? that's a bit unfair actually.

Well, I thought I would have a chance to take a bath, but we were all losing ourselves and got busy immediately for taking pictures inside the room. Blogger, you say. So I didn't take a bath, also the other bloggers, please forgive us. I just washed my face and re-applied my make-up.

Around 6.30 pm we all went to Djakarta Theater Building XXI by bus, how awesome because our bus was guarded by the police.

Was in extremely hurry, all bloggers wore same shirt.
Don't complain about the picture quality
Once arrived, we were then pleased to join the buffet dinner along with others; invitees and finalists from another competition aside blogging. So many Indonesian menus were served and how cool, we were also entertained by live music. It was awesome.

Around 7.35 pm, we were then informed to enter the theater cause the event was about to start.

Inside Djakarta Theater Building XXI
That was my first time to be inside Djakarta Theater Building XXI, I sat on the middle row, which specially served for bloggers. Sadly there weren't stairs to level each row, so poor to all people who sat on the back row, like me. I couldn't see the stage clearly because of their heads -you will soon notice it on my next pictures.

Surprisingly the whole room turned into pitch black and suddenly I heard loud banging drums sound along with awesome lighting effects from the stage. Yeah, the opening! For about 20 minutes I was charmed by all of the performances, such as the two energetic women playing drums and group of ladies dancing with blue mesmerizing dress.

After that we were watching all of the winners performances from several competitions which Daihatsu had held at previous IIMS 2013, including : cheerleading competition, singing competition, vocal group competition, also dance competition. I didn't remember names of each winner, but perhaps I notice that the singer was Louise Anny or something, she was one of the winner from singing competition.

This 'Pesta Sahabat Daihatsu 2013' was meant to celebrate the 105th years of Daihatsu, how incredible! I also had a chance to hear speech from Tatsuya Kaneko - Vice President Daihatsu Motor Company, Ltd. (DMC), Sudirman MR - President Director PT Astra Daihatsu Motor (ADM),  and Djony Bunarto Tjondro - Chief Executive Officer (CEO) PT Astra International Tbk — Daihatsu Sales Operation (Al-DSO). Anyway, this event was hosted by Ayu Dewi and Obi, you just can't imagine how fun it was!

Then, the highlights: announcing all the winners from each competition I mentioned on the previous post: Daihatsu Everywhere (Photography contest), Sales Eco Driving (driving contest), Hijau Bersama Daihatsu/'Green With Daihatsu' (a best turtle conservation ideas competition), Sehat Bersama Daihatsu/Healthy With Daihatsu (Best Integrated Service Post) and Pintar Bersama Daihatsu/Smart with Daihatsu (Form of appreciation toward the head of education department) and of course... Blog Review Competition.

My heart was beating so fast when the MCs were announcing each name of blog competition's winners, one by one. Five winners had been announced but there wasn't my name. Ah, I didn't win... Well, congratulation to all of them, there wasn't any regret cause, you know, I do admit they deserved for their writings were good and even beyond my thoughts. I learned a lot and will try to do more next time.

And, as for closing, you wouldn't believe me who would the guest performance be. It's The Dance Company! Aw! I even recently often listen to their songs, I realize their style is just so unique with catchy lyrics. I just couldn't get my eyes off otf them; Baim, Nugie, Aryo Wahab, and Pongky just never failed to impress me.

Luckily, there was no time to pity myself for not winning since I won a seated massage cushion from my doorprize, lucky 8! Though I was thinking that probably I wouldn't got any luck on doorprize (well, actually I already had my eye to LED TV as the main reward). But, it was all good! (Although in the end, I had to cancel my plan to visit Monas and Sea World while I was in Jakarta the next day, since this seated cushion is heavy and I just couldn't bring it with me anywhere).

So, on the next day, I returned to Bandung directly (bye, Ancol. Bye, Monas. Bye, Sea World. When will I visit you?). Afterall, it was a great experience and I will never forget it! Who would, by the way. There will be more blog competition next year, hope that I could participate (and win).

For now, these souvenirs from Daihatsu would be my motivations to write more.

Thanks for reading, see you on my next post!

Finding correct colors for my lips looks like a never ending journey as for me. I've been trying to achieve so much natural look but seems my oh-not-so-red lips are hard to find her match. I've been wasting my time to find red, pink, brown lipstick but they just seem make my face look even paler or (sometimes, somehow) extremely bitchy. Lol. So, I've been restraining myself and said I would be enough just with common lip-gloss.

But, hey, some times ago I received a gift package with this lip inside it: Wardah Hydrogloss number 04: Glazing Plum. Oopsie, now I just simply fall in love with this cutie. How come? Let's take a look.

The Packaging

The product is wrapped by a blue paper box, not so rigid and it was quiet messed up already when I received it. But, well, acceptable.

Netto 3.8 g. Ah, I wonder how long would I spend this.

Now, let's open up the box and this is what I got. Just can't resist myself to immediately try it.

I think it's quiet cool and feminine, at the same time.

The Ingredients

It's written: lipstick with soft colour and also maintain lips moisturizer all day with aloe vera extract, squalane & vitamin E. So, what we got here? Aloe vera is water plant that has been so popular for treating chapped lips and dry lips, it contains rich vitamin E. Vitamin E is a good antioxidant, which able to fight against the skin cell damage that believed to be caused by free radicals. Awesome! And squalane, it protects the skin from moisture loss and provides a shield for the body from environmental toxins. This sounds promising.

The ingredients are kindly stated here:

The Swatch

Let's move to the swatch color. Judging from the color appearance, I thought this lipstick would be so glamour red, dazzling red, you name it.

I, first, even feel scared to apply it since I have no confidence to wear red lipstick up until now. But I keep saying "This is gloss, lipgloss, right? This should be alright, then,"

Surprisingly it turns out to be less red than I thought. I even barely could see it with only one-time brush. The swatch I took here was about two or three times brushing. It's so soft and light, easy to apply and it does contain fragrance on it.

The Look

I tried to make two comparisons on my picture. The left is without flash and the right one is using flash. What do you think?

Even my colleagues said this matches me well. Love it. And yes, it does cure my recent chapped lips faster (aside using baking soda to scrub my lips). I love to wear this daily and for treatment. Just can't get enough of this.

Definitely recommended and will buy again. It's about IDR 30,000 or $3, Wardah is an Indonesian brand so I hesitate if it's available outside Indonesia. Anyway, what is your favorite lipgloss?

Ps. I tried to be on time, lol.

Last month, I joined a blog competition held by Daihatsu, wrote about 7 pages A4 size reviewing about their "Terios 7 Wonders Hidden Paradise" road trip event. I was desperately praying for I could -at least, chosen to be one of the finalists. Well, I wasn't that optimist to be able stand as a winner at that time, fact that I never succeed on winning manly blog competitions reduced my confidence a lot, somehow. So, I was like, to be one of the finalists would be more than enough.

And what's the news? Thank's God, I'm in! Among 107 bloggers who had participated on the competition I was among the 26 finalists to be invited to Jakarta, the capital, to attend a blogger gathering and also Daihatsu grand party "Pesta Sahabat" on December 14th 2013.

Few days after announcing the finalists through web, a representative from Public Relations of PT Astra Daihatsu Motor, Mr. Guntur Kusuma contacted me by phone to inform the itinerary details, including how should I go to Jakarta and the way they will provide me hotel and accommodations, ah, how lucky!

Actually I wasn't that ready myself, you know, I was busy at work -since it's about Christmas holiday so I have no more day-off left. While on the other hand, bf was greatly holding me back from going alone. This is insane! I've been waiting for this moment and I just couldn't let it go, I crazily insisted both my parent and bf to let me, I made sure that everything would be alright, I even mentioned one of my fellow bloggers from Kumpulan Emak Blogger community, Mrs. Nia Haryanto, explaining that we've promised to go together.

Although I got the permission, in the end, it's decided that I couldn't travel with Mrs Nia since it'd take a long time for us to meet, we live in the same city, but separated quiet far away. As a result, bf accompanied me to Jakarta. So, let's meet on Jakarta, I teased her.

I went to Jakarta by X-Trans, a travel car. A bit hasty and unorganized, the fact I bought the ticket just 30 minutes before we go. But, things turned out well in the end, thank you to my iphone GPS, you worked well so I arrived to the referred place in time. 3 hours Bandung - Jakarta, the road never been so good!

Mr. Guntur
The blogger gathering took place in Arya Duta Hotel, Jalan Prapatan 44 Jakarta, in Kwitang area. This hotel is popular as Arya Duta Tugu Tani. It's better to say that way rather than mentioning the complete address since my taxi driver even didn't recognize it before I said its second nickname: Arya Duta Kwitang.

3 PM on Monas 5 meeting room, Mr. Guntur was ready to open the gathering. I sat on the very front row just to be able taking their pictures clearly -but, guess, my photos are still bad. It was lucky they didn't launch a live tweet contest during the gathering, cause I couldn't guarantee my phone battery would stay any longer (my phone was drained cause of that newly-installed iOS 7!).

The first speaker on the blogger gathering was Mr. Rio Sanggau, the Domestic Marketing Division Head of PT Astra Daihatsu Motor. He opened the gathering by sharing his experience while working in Daihatsu. In recent years, Daihatsu has been the leading company to provide compact family cars in Indonesia. With its tagline 'Sahabat' (=best friends, lit. in English), not only the product, but the atmosphere of working in Daihatsu is warm and welcome, just like sharing life with your best friends, he explained.

Then, he continued explaining about the "Pesta Sahabat" which would be held later at night. During 2013, Daihatsu had launched so many programs to show their appreciation toward public through 4 main sectors: health, education, mid-level business (UMKM), ecosystem (go green). As a proof, they had created  so many competitions aside the blog contest; Daihatsu Everywhere (Photography contest), Sales Eco Driving (driving contest), Hijau Bersama Daihatsu/'Green With Daihatsu' (a best turtle conservation ideas competition), Sehat Bersama Daihatsu/Healthy With Daihatsu (Best Integrated Service Post) and Pintar Bersama Daihatsu/Smart with Daihatsu (Form of appreciation toward the head of education department).

And that night, all the finalists from each competition were invited to the awarding night at "Pesta Sahabat". Yeah, I was there too! Mr. Sanggau also sent his gratitude specially for us, bloggers, who had fully supported Daihatsu by writing many topics about them leading their traffic to reach number 1 at Alexa, wow, I even got no number yet.

Daihatsu is aware toward the rapid growing of internet users and interested to include bloggers in every of their event. So, in return,

Next year, 2014, be ready bloggers! Daihatsu will launch more and massive blog competitions!

Food blog competition, travel blog competition, another road trip with Terios 7 Wonders, you name it! And, spoiler, next year, they even will reach Wakatobi, Sulawesi Island. Slurp, yummy! And don't forget, all the finalists would be invited to Pesta Sahabat 2014

The second speaker is Akhmad Fauzi aka Mr. Dest from Indonesian News Portal, Viva.Co.Id. As a social media specialist, he intended to share some tips and tricks to drive more traffic to our blog. Of course, nowadays everything is about online business, and how to maximize blog and social media as marketing tools are definitely important!

First, he described how people lately are using one of the following internet social network features: blog, forum, social media, and micro blogging. All the things mentioned are applications which built under web technology 2.0 which are capable to generate user content.

Looking back to history, old people were using postal service or even telegraph to exchange information, here, nowadays, information and news are everywhere. That's why, even social media has growth more than just for friending, merely information, or existence, even narcissism, but into promotion. Fact has proven how social media can be so effective to bring the brand message to consumers and in return, consumers can share their experience directly: good or bad thing.

But still people have to be careful with things they're saying since everything may happen; followers may come or they may leave you.

So that's how Mr. Dest was trying to promote Log.Viva.Co.Id as Indonesian number 1 blog aggregator. He claimed that viva has around 12 million unique browsers per month and would like to share its page views with Indonesian bloggers by sharing their blog content.

I've known this viva portal for a year, and so far I love the idea of blog aggregator. I could notice significant traffic coming from viva everytime I share my writings to their site and it's brilliant! But, unluckily it's only available for Indonesian-written blogs only. How about English written blog, like me?

Now I have to search for another blog aggregator. So, where do you think I should go, readers?

----00ooo00----

Well, that's my story attenting the blogger gathering by Daihatsu and Viva on December 14th 2013.
Thanks for reading!

This is my second product I've used from L'Occitane en provence: Sublime Beauty Cream. I received this sample along with L'Occitane Iris Angelique Essence Sublime which I've reviewed. And after several uses, I really-really love this BB cream.

The (Sample) Packaging

I got the sample for free from the counter. it's really small, it only lasts for 2-3 use for each. It's made from plastic and easy to cut as well as pressing for the cream to pop.

The Ingredient

On the backs side, it's written clearly about the ingredients:

Aqua/water, Cl 77891/Titanium Dioxide, Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate, Glycerin, Silica, Vegetable oil/olus oil, cyclomethicone, caprylic/capric triflyceride, Cl 77492/Iron oxides, octyldodecanol, methyl methacrylate crosspolymer, potassium cetyl phospate, coco-glucoside, cetearyl alcohol, Angelica Archangelica Root Extract. Angelica Archangela Root Oil, Iris Florentina Root Extract, Iris Pallida Root Extract, Lens Esculenta (lentil) Fruit Extract, simmondsia chinensi (jojoba) seed oil, dicaprylyl carbonate, phenoxyethanol, parfum/fragrance. dimethicone/vinyl dimethicone crosspolymer, lauroyl lysine, polyglyceryl-2 Caprate, coconut alcohol, dimethiconol, chlorphenesin, alumina, ethylhexylglycerin, sclerotium gum, xanthan gum, sucrose stearate, stearic acid, tocopherol, glyceryl caprylate, squalane, biosaccharide gum-1, sodium benzoate, potassium sorbate, limonene, Cl 77499/Iron Oxides, Cl 77491/Iron Oxides

The bold ingredients are claimed to be from organic farming which also the main feature of this product. It doesn't contain paraben, that's why I love this brand so much and no wonder why it's expensive compared to another brand.

The Cream

It says: Apply in the morning on the face, on a clean and dry skin. Can be used alone or after your usual moisturizer.

So that's why I use this after applying my moisturizer. I choose the medium variant since it matches my tone well. Anyway, this bb cream comes with light and medium shade. The advertisement promises that this cream would help to achieve a perfect, flawless finish. Also offering all the benefits of a moisturizer and foundation, gives the complexion a fresh, natural and even look, visibly reduces the look of pores, redness and blemishes, hydrates and smoothes the skin, and provides SPF 30 sun protection. Awesome , right?

The cream has thick texture at a glance but at the same time it's really soft and easy to blend -moreover if you have applied moisturizer. I definitely love its sweet and subtle scent, I wonder why some people dislike fragrance-contained cream? I personally heart it.

Magically, I don't need to add concealer to cover my blemishes or scars cause this cream has a good coverage! It also hides my large pores and really bring even look. Can't ask for more. It does the job well, clap-clap!

The finishing just good without powder, it would create a dewy look, but I'd rather to add face-powder to make a matte look. And it lasted for more than 6 hours, just like my office hour.

I hope I can purchase the full size in the future, it's pretty expensive though, around IDR 480,000 ($49) for 40 mL. But I think it's worth buying :)

Thank you for reading.

Have wore contact lenses for around than 10 years, I guess there are times you're just feeling tired of it and want to switch to glasses. again. Lately I kept memorizing my childhood, my ups and downs with glasses mostly (I broke so many of my eyeglasses back then, lol). Until I reached point where I want to wear eyeglasses again.

I was looking around for cool glasses where I read another blogger's reviews about Firmoo that claimed as world's most popular online eyeglasses store. I spent some time browsing about their products and find they provide many interesting stuffs that attract me a lot -not to mention, so many promos!

So, my choose went to this sexy blue eyeglasses (blue is my favorite color), which only $39.00. Filling the specific number for eyeglasses can be quiet troublesome as for me, since I didn't have any prescription neither went to optic to check my current numbers, such as Pupillary Distance (PD), Sphere (SPH), Cylinder (CYL)Axis, or Addition (near) ADD. But, still you can upload your picture to visually imagine how will you look like with the glass. In the end I only ordered it as fashion glasses without prescription.

The ordering system in Firmoo is pretty easy. First we only have to make an account, make our order and choose the payment system (visa or paypal). The shipping fee to Indonesia costed around ~$18.

The glasses price includes 1.50 single vision lenses and there will be additional fee if you prefer not to use the standard lens offered. The other options are: Thin and Light (1.57), Thinner and Lighter (1.57 Aspheric ), MR-8 (1.61 Similar to Polycarbonate), Polycarbonate (1.59), Super Thin (1.60 Aspheric ), Ultra Thin (1.67 Aspheric ), As Thin as possible (1.74 Aspheric ), and Polarized Lens (1.5)

It took about 2 weeks until my first Firmoo pair knocked my door from Nanjing via EMS. And guess what? This is really cool! It comes just exactly like the picture. It comes with a protective spectacle case, an eyeglass bag and pieces of micro-fibre lens cloth.

I love this blue and yellow color combination. What do you think?

It's very light, now I'm afraid to break it.

The back of the glasses temple is showing the 'Firmoo' brand and my type.

It's very thin indeed, it looks so fashionable. But sadly, I have an oily face that this glasses keep sliding on my nose, lol. I need to add nose pad for this reason in the future.

But so far, I just love this eyeglasses a lot. I intend to change the lens too to match my real prescription.

Do I look good with this glasses? Do you want to make an order in Firmoo next time? You'd be hurry, there are so many gift vouchers in Firmoo right now. Head to Firmoo then.

See you!

For around half an hour I was sitting on the front seat car listening to the guide's stories along our way from hotel at day 2 in Thailand. The religion, history, cultures, and arts -including Thai boxing. I was simply busy recording the wide street with not many vehicles crossing, intend to keep it as my personal memory. It was 9 AM, a sunny day and pretty hot outside the car, just like Jakarta, without the crowd.

Our first destination is Wat Pho, (วัดโพธิ์) a Buddhist temple in Phra Nakhon district, Bangkok, Thailand, also known as Temple of the Reclining Buddha (Wat Phra Chettuphon Wimon Mangkhlaram Ratchaworamahawiha/วัดพระเชตุพนวิมลมังคลารามราชวรมหาวิหาร), a 17 th century Bangkok temple on the banks of the Chao Phraya River. Once we parked our car, we were directly heading to its big entrance.

Two Giant Chinese Warriors are standing near the gate, ready to greet everyone, anytime, it's reflecting the Chinese influence during the reign of King Rama III.

Ticket price for entering Wat Pho only costed 100 Baht (around IDR 34,000 or $3.5 ) where you can exchange it for a free mineral water at the 'drink booth'. Well, it looked like there were already so many visitors though (I easily noticed that mostly were from Indonesia, lol).

Entering the 'building housing' of the Reclining Buddha, we will first given a bag to put our shoes. For information, we weren't allowed to use any covers when stepping inside. The gate was almost 4m in height.

Once I got in, I was amazed with the artistic design of the house, the paintings details on the wall, and the ceiling structure. The Reclining Buddha is placed in the center of the building, surrounded by pillars and fences which made me difficult to get a maximal shot of the Buddha statue itself.

I can't deny seeing another tourists were like another enjoyment for me. I was asking one or two of them to help taking pictures of me and mom, when our other group members were also busy with their cameras.

Thailand's students were having trip to Wat Pho
Near the pillars that surrounding the Buddha, there are many mini-Buddha statues placed for people praying.

And here another interesting object: the foot of Buddha, Mother of Pearl. There are 108 arranged panels displaying the auspicious symbols; identifying Buddha to be resemble like flowers, dancers, white elephants, tigers and altar accessories. Over the statue, there is a seven tiered umbrella representing the authority of Thailand.

This 108 characters are reflected in 108 bronze bowls in the corridor. Visitors can drop coins in these bowls which believed can bring good fortune and to help the monks maintain the wat. You will have to pay 20 Baht to buy the coins.

My mom is dropping the coins... What a long passage...

Outside the temple, the grounds contain 91 chedis (stupas or mounds), four viharas (halls) and a bot (central shrine). 71 chedis of smaller size contains the ashes of the royal family, and 21 large ones contain the ashes of Buddha. I was able to take a picture with some young monks there but decided not to publish the photo. Wat pho is located near the Grand Palace where you can take a few shots of it.

Fountain at the yard
Souvenirs are plenty outside the area, near the entrance gate. You can reach it once you exit Wat Pho; Buddha statues, umbrella, hats. Do a little bargain is acceptable I guess.

I bought one of this hats for 150 baht (around IDR 50,000 ~ $6 ), they will give you 200 Baht at first. Actually the price is already cheap since this hat is so pretty!

Bangles for 100 Baht (around IDR 35,000 or $4) expensive or cheap? I would say pretty much expensive, hahaha... But it looks classy however, so, ok, it's not a big deal.

And a Thuk-Thuk was greeting us a good-bye when we're about leaving the Wat Pho.

See you again!
